My Story:

At 65, my dad began showing signs of Alzheimer’s. He had just beaten stage 4 throat cancer. We were devastated and scared with very little information. After his diagnosis, I started to research the disease to prepare myself and my family for what was coming down the road. The limited information available at the time left us confused and concerned for his well-being. We were watching a strong, successful, independent, and loving man change right in front of us. We were slowly losing him every day, and our hearts were breaking. When home care was no longer a safe option for him, we faced the challenge of finding a memory care community. The uncertainty of what was ahead, not knowing the right questions to ask, believing everything we were told, and not knowing our rights made the process even more difficult. Balancing his deteriorating health, jobs, and caring for young children proved to be an immense challenge, leaving us feeling lost and desperate for direction. My dad’s experience with Alzheimer’s and memory care presented many challenges, including abuse and neglect, which ultimately led to his early passing.

My anger and sadness from his unfortunate journey have inspired me to help others facing similar circumstances, ensuring they do not endure what my dad did. Had I known what I do now, I know things would have been different. Being able to empower my clients with the tools and knowledge to avoid these mistakes is my greatest passion.

With a 25-year career as a Director of Merchandising and Product Development behind me, I returned to school to earn my Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) certification and my Dementia Connection Specialist (DCS) certification. This allows me to better support families and their loved ones, leading them through the process while reducing unnecessary stress.

Having navigated this road, I'm here to walk alongside you, advocate, and guide you through the chapters ahead, and ensure your loved one is treated with compassion and grace.
